dippin' mah toes

i haven't posted in several months (and far longer than that, before the last post). seems i don't have a lot to say...but that may not be true. i'm just a little reticent about putting myself out there, on this (somewhat newer, relatively) venue.

seems the thing about blogging is that you're only as cool as the relative interest in your blog (read: the number of views you've got). on myspace, folks would read my thoughts. not because my prose was deathless or even all that interesting--although it was always spelled and punctuated as correctly as i could make it--but because it was easy to get to. i mean, people were already there, looking at my profile (which is public)...just a quick click would take them to my blog and then, if they were bored, they could click away and on to the next "fascinating" profile. here, however, you're writing for an entirely different reader. a blog connoisseur, you might say. will this reader stop to read me? no way of knowing, without taking the plunge. or at least dipping a toe in.

so here's my toe...and the water is--what? chilly? lukewarm? comfy? guess that's up to you, dear reader, oh-so-blogging-cool blog connoisseur. now that my toes are wet, i'll prob be back. after all, it's a lot less painful when you just friggin' dive in.

Coming from one who blogs when the spirit moves her... I enjoy having the opportunity to do it, even if it is not always very timely. For me it is a way to keep up on friends comings and goings, knittings and craftings, and just life in general. I generally will always come back and check in on folks, and if, like me, they only blog rarely, it is that much more a treat when I pop in and find something new.
Glad you found us this past weekend, and looking forward to seeing more of you with the crew. :)
